At Couture Vision, we offer general comprehensive, medical, surgical co-management, and specialty services for all members of the family between the ages of 2 and 102.
General Comprehensive Eye Care Services
The comprehensive eye exam looks at your eye externally and internally for any signs of eye disease, then tests your vision in a variety of ways.
- External Exam – This is an evaluation of the whites of your eyes, the iris, pupil, eyelids, and eyelashes.
- Internal Exam – This is an evaluation of the retina, crystalline lens, and optic nerve.
- Visual Function and Eye Health – This includes testing depth perception, color vision, peripheral vision, and the response of the pupils to light, as well as an evaluation of eye focusing, eye teaming, and eye movement abilities, as needed.
- Glaucoma Testing – This is a test of fluid pressure within your eyes to check for the possibility of glaucoma.
- Visual Acuity – Your doctor will test your vision with different lenses to determine if glasses or contact lenses can improve your vision. If so, prescriptions will be provided at the end of the exam depending on your specific visual needs and lifestyle.
Additionally, digital retinal scanning/screening is non-invasive and does not require eye drops. It is the best way to detect the early onset of disease and is routinely performed on all patients at this office.
Medical Eye Care Services
Medical eye care services are typically more targeted and condition-specific than a comprehensive eye examination. These services have a wide range, like:
- Acute conditions like pink eye, allergy, and styes,
- Chronic ocular disease like dry eye disease, glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration,
- And complex systemic disease processes that can affect the eyes like diabetes, high blood pressure, and long-term medication use like Plaquenil.
Honestly, we simply manage too many medical conditions to provide an exhaustive list here. Please call the office directly if you have any questions about a medical condition that you would like help with.
Surgical Co-management
We are happy to provide both pre-op and post-op services for some of the best surgeons in the area. We co-manage:
- Refractive surgeries like LASIK, PRK, and SMILE,
- Cataract surgeries and lens implants, including Multifocal, Depth of Focus, and Light-Adjustable designs, and
MIGS procedures for glaucoma patients that would like to be less reliant on eyedrops.
Specialty Services
Dry Eye Management
One of the leading causes of dry eye disease is excessive computer use, so it’s no surprise that cases of dry eye are increasing exponentially in recent years. Left untreated, the damage caused may be irreversible.
While dry eye isn’t a serious condition, it can have a significant impact on your quality of life. Early symptoms in the disease process may include your eyes getting tired faster, having difficulty reading, or tearing up easily (as counterintuitive as that sounds!). As the condition progresses, the eyes may begin to feel sandy or gritty when you blink, or you may experience a burning sensation or increased sensitivity. Blurry vision is also a common symptom.
Myopia Management
Nearsightedness, or myopia, has increased globally over the past few decades. While there are a number of factors that contribute to eyes developing myopia, the hard truth is that we are seeing myopia develop in younger patients and at faster rates than ever before.
Patients with higher levels of myopia have increased risk of sight-threatening conditions like retinal holes, tears, and detachments, cataracts, and glaucoma.
In the past, the only treatments available were eyeglasses or contact lenses, which provided patients with clear vision but did not slow the progression of myopia. Thankfully, that is no longer the case. There are multiple options available that have been clinically shown to slow or halt the progression of myopia completely.
If your child has myopia, particularly if myopia also runs in the family, we strongly recommend a myopia management consultation.
Anti-Aging Therapies
Aging is not for the weak. Luckily, we have technology on our side!
Have you been looking for an anti-aging solution that actually works? What about one that requires ZERO downtime, NO needles, and little to no maintenance? Oh also, it doesn’t hurt. Sound good?
We use a combination of light and heat therapies to treat many conditions in the orbital and periorbital regions. We can help with fine lines and wrinkles, droopy eyelids, bags under the eyes, redness from rosacea and other causes of inflammation, discoloration from sun damage and liver spots, and much more.
Check out our Technology page for more information on how it works!

“OK…the attention to the customers’ needs is A1. I work on two computer monitors all day and struggled for years with my neck, adjusting my head back just to see my screen. Dr. Black listened, thought, discussed and I can now immediately just look straight at my screen and see it perfectly clear. If you want true professional service, go here! It was life changing for me and my career.”
