Meet Dr. Adam Black O.D.
Dr. Adam Black has proudly served Naperville and the sounding communities for over a decade. He went to the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign for his undergraduate degree, and graduated with honors in 2006 from the University of California at Berkeley’s School of Optometry. He received his Masters in Business Administration with a Specialization in Entrepreneurial Studies from the University of Colorado in Denver in 2010.
Dr. Black had a dream of creating something new and unique in eye care. Something that combined high quality patient care, a good amount of fun, a personal touch, and maybe even a hint of edginess and style.
Thus, in 2012, Couture Vision was born.
In his free time, Dr. Black is an avid water enthusiast, and you will likely find him at the pool when he’s not at the office. Otherwise, he enjoys travel, good food, and spending time with his dog, Thor, a cairn terrier rescue.
For the record, Thor is a solid 20 pounds of awesome, and he lives up to his name!
Meet Dr. Megan Werling O.D.
Dr. Megan Werling was born and raised in Granger, Indiana. She graduated with distinction from Indiana University in 2011 with a bachelor of the arts in Art History (yes, art history!) and minors in Biology and Psychology. She then completed her doctorate of optometry at the Indiana University School of Optometry in 2015. During optometry school, Dr. Werling was an active member of Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH) and participated in several humanitarian trips to Guanajuato, Mexico. She received the Eschenback Low Vision Student Award upon graduation, and is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa academic honor society and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Werling is excited to be close to her family in the Chicagoland area and recently relocated with her husband, Matt; son, August; and rascal of a dog, Louie. Prior to moving to Naperville, she practiced at the Cincinnati Vision Group in Cincinnati, Ohio for nearly ten years. She is looking forward to the food and arts scenes in Naperville and to hearing about your favorite local pizza spots. Her hobbies include nerding out over art history, reading embarrassing fantasy novels, baking, and (most importantly) spending time with her family.
